Internationale Kurzfilmtage Oberhausen

Die Internationalen Kurzfilmtage Oberhausen, gegründet 1954, sind eine der größten internationalen Plattformen für die kurze Form. Oberhausen ist einzigartig in der Bandbreite der Formen und Genres, die hier präsentiert werden, und bekannt für seine Offenheit Experimenten gegenüber. Zahllose Filmemacher und Künstler, von Roman Polanski bis Cate Shortland, von George Lucas bis Pipilotti Rist, haben hier ihre ersten Arbeiten präsentiert. Das Festival organisiert einen Internationalen, einen Deutschen und einen Kinder- und Jugendfilmwettbewerb sowie den MuVi-Preis für das beste deutsche Musikvideo und den NRW Wettbewerb für Produktionen aus Nordrhein-Westfalen. Darüber hinaus ist Oberhausen für seine umfangreichen thematischen Programme bekannt, wie z.B. "Vom Meeresgrund", das sich 2010 mit dem frühen Film vor 1918 befasste oder "Das Kino der Tiere" (2011), einem Programm über die Geschichte des künstlerischen und wissenschaftlichen Tierfilms. Außerdem bietet das Festival eine gut ausgestattete Video Library, führt einen nicht-kommerziellen Kurzfilmverleih und verfügt über ein einzigartiges Archiv von Kurzfilmen aus über 50 Jahren Filmgeschichte. Founded in 1954, the International Short Film Festival Oberhausen is one of the major international crossroads for the short form, unique in the range of forms and genres it presents to the public, and particularly well known for its spotlight on experimentation. In the course of more than five decades, filmmakers and artists ranging from Roman Polanski to Cate Shortland, from George Lucas to Pipilotti Rist, have presented their first works in Oberhausen. The Festival organises an International, a Children's and Youth Films and a German Competition and the MuVi Award for the best German music video as well as the NRW Competition for productions from North Rhine-Westphalia. In addition, Oberhausen is known for its strong line of thematic programmes such as "From the Deep" in 2010, which presented early films from before 1918, or "Shooting Animals" in 2011, a programme about the history of the artistic and scientific animal film. The festival also operates a well-stocked Video Library, a non-commercial short film distribution branch and a unique archive of short films from more than 50 years of festival history. The 58th edition will take place from 26 April to 1 May 2012. The big thematic programme will focus on the 50th anniversary of the Oberhausen Manifesto, one of the most influential documents in German film history, which was announced in Oberhausen in 1962. Le Festival organise une compétition internationale des « Films d'enfants et de jeunes », une « Compétition Allemande », le Mu Vi Award pour le meilleur clip vidéo allemand ainsi que la compétition NRW réservée aux productions du nord du Rhein et de la Westphalie. D'autre part, Oberhausen est célèbre pour ces programmations pointues telles que « From the deep » (« des profondeurs ») en 2010, qui présentait des films antérieurs à 1918 ou encore « Shooting animals » (« filmer les animaux ») en 2011 , qui retraçait l'histoire artistique et scientifique du film animal. Le festival peut aussi être considéré comme une bibliothèque vidéo de choix, un distributeur de court métrages à but non lucratif et des archives uniques recouvrant cinquante ans d'histoire.
