The island of Malta represents catholic and military history of Europe, and tourism; still the spirit of the goddess can be felt ... or such a spirit is needed ...

The glass elevator at the luxurious hotel Marriott Marquis in New York drives down - the long ride ends in glacier ice. A metaphor for depressions which can affect people living in abundance.

The animation Global Vulva connects female figures and vulva symbols from different times, countries and cultures, while they morph into each other - the cultural meaning of the female genital becomes visible again.

Myriam Thyes, 2009. Ten groups of pictures, including a total amount of 95 photographs and photomontages.

In August and September 2008, M. Thyes worked in Glasgow, Scotland, as artist in residence at Wasps Artists' Studios, with a grant by the cities of Dusseldorf and Glasgow. All pictures were shot in Glasgow, then worked digitally till May 2009.
