A series of poems by Liz Lefroy, The Gathering, will be performed for the first (and maybe last!) time on 5th May in St Chad's in Shrewsbury at 7.30pm.
The Gathering is a series of meditative poems which roughly follow the order of the liturgy for the Eucharist. They are being published as a pamphlet by Long Face Press (the Keele University press for creative work) and the pamphlet will be available for the first time at the concert. It will contain two illustrations by the artist Nathalie Hildegarde Liege . The poems have been set to music by Brian Evans, a friend and colleague in Darwin Voices. The music is for chamber choir, bass solo, string orchestra and organ.
The programme for the concert is:
Elgar Serenade for Strings,
Poulenc Concerto for Organ and Orchestra,
The Gathering (new choral commission) Darwin Voices and String Orchestra

Etonnant d'avoir reussi à faire une petite histoire avec le reportage original, bien joué !
